Generational Responsibility
It is incumbent upon us as the stewards of humanity to cultivate a world
where our children can live, without fear and without the excessive pride
that leads great peoples to destruction.
First and foremost the Vermont Roots Reggae Festival is devoted to cultivating
an environment where a family can live and grow for the full weekend.
The long history of the Vermont Reggae Festival has shown it to be a
peaceful place of spiritual growth and freedom of spirit.
We look forward to carrying on that tradition, and expanding the scope
of the Festival's aims by introducing new elements like lectures and discussion
forums, as well as establishing a farmers' market and to illustrate
the wonderful advantage of having a strong, caring community.
It is important in this age of international trade to know about the people
that grow the food we eat and the hard work they do to bring it to us,
and to keep it organic.
We hope that while we are together the importance of community, knowledge,
and spirituality will be reinforced, and bring us all closer in a world
that sometimes seems to be dragging us apart.

Regenerational Ecology
There is nothing man can create more beautiful than what has been
made by the Creator.
Realizing this, we intend to donate % of all profits from the festival
toward the establishment of a nonprofit organization devoted to reforestation
and permacultural land stewardship.
For more information regarding these topics, and greater insight
into some of the principles that guide us, please take a look at the
website of the Gund Institute for
Ecological Economics.

Intelligent Technology
Ital Innovations
We of the Vermont Roots Reggae Festival want to redefine what it means
for technology to be intelligent by promoting innovations that ameliorate
the impact of mankind on the Earth.
This can mean using electric power generated from renewable sources
as well as building structures and tools from recycled and reused materials.
Specifically, this can take the form of running lights and stage equipment
on solar energy or biodiesel fuel or using bicycle-powered flour mills
to make bread for hungry campers.
We are actively looking for more ways of making our festival healthier
and more sustainable- if you have any ways of contributing to this end,
please contact the director.
